How to install; Microsoft Windows Me; Microsoft Windows 98
To install the Lexmark X84/X85 printer driver:
Insert CD1. Note: The USB cable should NOT be connected at this stage.
When the installation screen appears, click on Install Now.
When the Lexmark X84-X85 Setup screen appears, click Next.
When the Choose Destination Location screen appears, click Next.
When the Ready To Install screen appears, click Next. The driver setup installation will run and the following message will appear:
To minimize the possibility of errors during the install, if you have already connected the USB cable to the computer, please disconnect it now.
Ensure that the USB cable is not connected. Click OK. The installation will continue for a few minutes. The following screen will then appear:
Connect the USB cable and let the USB driver load. After it has run, click on the OK button. The setup process will continue for a few seconds between 10 and 30. A blue Printer Driver Installation screen will appear.
When the installation is finished, you will have a chance to register your printer online. You can Register now or click Exit.
A Setup is complete message will appear and advise that Lexmark has included additional software for Photo Editing and Fax. You will be prompted to install this software now. Click Yes. Note: If you do not wish to install this software, click No.
Insert CD2. Select the Language you want the software to install and click on Continue
When the installation is complete, choose to run the MGI program and Work on your Own option. When the new screen comes up, close it and click on Restart Windows. Your installation is now complete.
